When it comes to encouraging personal growth and development at Lavasoft, we don't just talk the talk. Read how one of our new arrivals to the team, MarieLouise, has grown within the company, in her own words.
The last few months have been a turning point in MarieLouise's career path. After working for seven years in the travel industry, with six of those years spent abroad, she was ready to try her hand at a new industry in her hometown of Gothenburg, Sweden.
While MarieLouise initially applied for a position that required a native English speaker, her enthusiasm, positive attitude and international background are key qualities the company looks for, and she was offered to fill-in for an open temp position.
"When I first saw the job listing and read about Lavasoft, I immediately felt that this is the kind of company I'd like to work for, due to the international environment and the industry itself. I jumped at the chance to fill in for a few weeks."
Two weeks soon turned into two months.
"After finishing the two weeks, I was offered to take on a project for the sales and marketing departments. I was thrilled to start on something new and I felt encouraged by my manager."
And it didn't end there. Her solid match with the rest of the team made it an easy decision to welcome her to a permanent position at Lavasoft.
"After completing one of the projects I was working on, I was offered my current, full-time position. It was great since I enjoy everything about this job."
What does she think is the best thing about working at Lavasoft?
"I like the challenging tasks, the international and very friendly environment, and being given the opportunity to grow within the company. And all the laughs I get during the day - that's probably the best thing!"
